Vocal recording
Recording a voice involves more than putting a microphone in front of someone. Distance, monitoring, pacing and the confidence behind each phrase all matter.

At Biotroncetra, the song sets the direction: we discuss its intention, agree on a reference and prepare a headphone balance that lets you sing without fighting the backing track.
Bring your own instrumental, a finished arrangement or a demo that needs a more focused performance.
A process in four steps
- 01Brief
Tell us the goal, available material and preferred date. We review the job before suggesting a session.
- 02Quotation
You receive scope, rates, first delivery date and written terms. Booking follows acceptance and the 30% deposit.
- 03Work
We follow the agreed scope and discuss changes before carrying them out. The booked time includes planned breaks.
- 04Delivery
Review a version, consolidate comments and use the 2 included rounds. Final files and agreed rights follow full payment.
Who this session suits
This session is for solo artists, songwriters and bands who need a lead vocal, doubles or harmonies without booking a complete production. It also makes sense when your instruments were recorded at home and you want to spend the studio budget on the performance that carries the song. Technical vocabulary is optional: explain the emotion you want and which arrangement is final. If the lyrics or key are still changing, settle them before booking. We can listen to a demo to identify requirements, but songwriting, instrumental production and hiring musicians are separate jobs. A recording session captures performance choices; it cannot replace earlier creative development.
Preparing before your visit
Send the backing track as a WAV file with a song reference, including tempo and key if known. An export beginning at a consistent start point makes entrances and section changes easier to manage. Bring a readable lyric sheet and mark where you want doubles or responses. Rehearse the arrangement we will record, including any introduction. Rest beforehand and allow enough time to travel across Madrid: arriving rushed rarely helps you listen critically. You do not need to buy equipment for the appointment. If you require an accessibility adjustment, mention it when requesting a quotation so the route and session arrangements can be assessed.
Working take by take
We begin with a short listen and adjust placement, recording level and headphones. The test is about obtaining a useful signal for the project, rather than making the voice artificially oversized. We record in sections when the song benefits from that approach and keep complete takes when they preserve intention. Between passes we review pitch, articulation and continuity without turning every detail into an interruption. You choose the performance character; the engineer suggests ways to capture it. Breaks are part of the booked time. If significant lyric changes arise, we discuss their effect on duration before continuing. Additional work is never turned into a charge without agreement.

- Agreed WAV export
- 2 comment rounds on booked editing
Selection and editing
We select takes using criteria you can follow: intention, clarity and consistency between phrases. An expressive performance can work better than a technically flawless compilation that feels disconnected. Light editing covers organising takes and preparing a labelled selection; intensive pitch or timing correction is quoted separately. We preserve meaningful breaths and avoid cutting useful phrase endings. The written scope specifies whether you will receive unprocessed tracks, an edited selection or both. Before closing the session, we listen to difficult points against the backing track. You can identify a specific problem while the material is still familiar instead of relying on an uncertain memory of an earlier take.
Deliverables and continuity
The usual delivery consists of 24-bit WAV tracks at the agreed sample rate, normally 48 kHz. File names identify the song, vocal role and version. An MP3 listening mix helps you share the result, but it does not replace the originals for mixing. The quotation sets the first delivery date according to duration and editing workload; a simple vocal and a song with extensive harmonies cannot always follow the same schedule. Two rounds of comments are included within the booked scope. A new performance requires another session. Working files are retained for 6 months after delivery. Download your copies and keep your own backup before that period ends.
What should remain separate
The engineer-assisted session does not include digital distribution, cover artwork, advertising, instrumental licences or third-party rights clearance. It also does not automatically produce a release-ready master. If mixing follows later, prepare tracks with a common start point and share the agreed references. When the instrumental is heavily compressed or clipped, a clean vocal recording cannot restore information already missing from it. For songs with several writers, clarify who may approve changes. Confirm that you have permission before sending commercial material. We can help organise the project technically, but authorisation to use the repertoire remains the responsibility of the person requesting the session.
Rates and conditions
| Service | Unit | Excl. VAT | Incl. VAT · 21% |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vocal recording | hour | €49.59 | €60.00 |
Rates show the 21% VAT-inclusive amount alongside the net amount so you can compare the full cost. The quotation identifies time, tasks and deliverables; a starting figure is not a replacement for that agreement. The 30% deposit is deducted from the total rather than added as another charge. Cancellation is free up to 7 days before the session, with the deposit refunded. With less notice, any charge is assessed under the terms and actual committed work, while preserving applicable statutory rights. B2B invoices have a 15-day payment term when agreed in writing. Enquiries are answered within 2 business days, Monday to Friday, 10:00–19:00 Madrid time. The person booking must be at least 18. If a performer is younger, participation and permission must be discussed with their legal representative before booking.
Questions about this service
Can I book without experience?
Yes. Describe the song and send a demo. Preparation and a realistic scope matter more than knowing equipment names.
Is pitch correction included?
Intensive correction is quoted separately. Changes that affect performance intention are discussed with you.
Can someone accompany me?
Mention this before booking. Participant numbers must suit the session, and interruptions during takes should be avoided.
